Ohio's roadways are set to undergo a series of significant construction and maintenance projects this season, affecting numerous highways, state routes, and local streets across the state. The projects are aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing safety, and ensuring smoother travel for residents and visitors.

In Allen County, Interstate 75 will see periodic lane restrictions between National Road in Cridersville and 4th Street in Lima from July 26 to August 28 for micro-surfacing. Additionally, the highway between 4th Street and Stewart Road will be restricted to one lane from August 24 to 28 for pothole patching. State Route 66 remains open following a closure for full-width paving, while State Route 66/Main Street in Delphos will close from September 16 to 20 for the annual Canal Days festival. The intersection of State Route 115 and Cole Street, south of U.S. 30, will be closed for approximately 60 days for roundabout construction, with a detour in place. State Route 117 and State Route 501 will also be affected by roundabout construction, with detours in place until September 21.

In Auglaize County, the shoulder near the I-75 Northbound Rest Area will be closed from August 24 to 28 for ditch work. Lane closures are expected on I-75 between Middle Pike and Hengstler Road from May 18 through mid-August for cable rail installation. State Route 29 in St. Marys will have intermittent single-lane restrictions from March 16 through September for sidewalk installation and signal upgrades. Roundabout construction on State Route 219 will close the bridge between CR 95 and Bay Road for approximately 90 days, with a detour in place.

In Hardin County, State Route 37 at the Hancock and Hardin County line will close on August 31 for 45 days for culvert replacement, with a detour in place. U.S. 68/Detroit Street will close for six days starting August 24 for railroad crossing repair. State Route 235 in Ada will be closed on September 19 for the Harvest and Herb festival. State Route 701 between County Road 105 and County Road 115 is now open following culvert replacement.

In Putnam County, State Route 65 in Leipsic will close from September 18 to 20 for a village festival. Temporary traffic impacts are expected on State Route 114 and State Route 115 in Kalida from July 27 to October 30 for shared-use path construction. Construction will take place on Front Street, SR 114, Rd M, and SR 115, with detours in place for State Route 190 and State Route 694.

In Van Wert County, U.S. 30 is restricted to one lane in each direction for a restricted crossing U-turn, and access to U.S. 30/John Brown Rd is restricted to right-in/right-out movements only. The intersection of U.S. 224 and Lincoln Highway is closed for roundabout construction, with the U.S. 224 bridge undergoing rehabilitation.

These projects are part of a larger effort to maintain and improve Ohio's transportation infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient travel for all users. Drivers are advised to plan ahead, follow detour routes, and be aware of construction zones to avoid delays and accidents.
