The Nashville Fair is returning to Middle Tennessee for its fifth annual run, bringing ten days of entertainment, carnival attractions, and agricultural showcases to the Fairgrounds Nashville from September 11 through September 20. Designed to provide family-friendly recreation while offering visitors relief from late-summer temperatures, the event features a mix of traditional outdoor festivities and extensive air-conditioned indoor exhibits.
This year’s edition is centered around the theme "Fun for the Whole Country," chosen to honor the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States. According to an announcement released by event organizers ahead of opening day, the fair aims to unite the local community by highlighting the agricultural roots, culinary traditions, artistic talents, and cultural character of Middle Tennessee. Organizers emphasized that while the carnival rides remain a major draw, the heart of the fair resides inside the climate-controlled exposition halls.
General admission pricing has been set at $10 for adults, while admission for senior citizens aged 55 and older and children over the age of 6 is $8. Children aged 5 and younger are admitted free of charge, with event rules requiring that all minor children be accompanied by an adult. For visitors planning to attend in larger parties, special group rate options are also offered through the fair’s official ticketing portal.
Midway enthusiasts seeking full access to carnival rides can purchase all-you-can-ride wristbands for $35. Alternatively, individual ride tickets are available for $1.50 each, though select attractions may require multiple tickets for entry. Officials noted that while the midway features rides designed for guests of all ages, standard safety protocols and height requirements will be enforced across various attractions.
Transportation and logistical arrangements have been established to accommodate visitors across the multi-day run. The Fairgrounds Nashville is situated at 320 Wedgewood Avenue, with on-site vehicle parking located at Gate 7 along 320 Craighead Avenue. For patrons utilizing rideshare services or requiring accessible entry points, a designated drop-off location is stationed at the Fifty Forward facility at 174 Rains Avenue. Public transit users can access the fairgrounds via several metropolitan bus routes operated by WeGo Public Transit.
The fair will operate under a staggered daily schedule to accommodate weekday and weekend crowds. Ticket gates will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 11, and on all subsequent weekdays from Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18. On both festival weekends—spanning September 12–13 and September 19–20—admission gates will open earlier, running from noon until 9 p.m.
Indoor exhibit buildings and the outdoor midway operate on extended hours past gate closure. The exhibition halls will remain open to the public until 10 p.m. each evening throughout the ten-day stretch. Meanwhile, midway rides and carnival games will continue operations until 10:30 p.m. nightly, providing attendees with additional time to explore the outdoor grounds.
A major educational centerpiece this year is the indoor AGtivity Hall, which houses livestock displays, farming exhibits, and interactive agricultural demonstrations. Serving as the fair’s official ambassador is Barnyard Benny, a Nigerian dwarf goat introduced as the event mascot. Guests will be able to interact with Benny inside the AGtivity Hall and spot him greeting fairgoers at various locations around the property.
In addition to local agricultural displays, the 2026 fair serves as the host site for the American Black Hereford Association’s annual conference and national membership meeting, scheduled from September 11 to September 13. This industry event will draw cattle breeders, youth exhibitors, and agricultural leaders from across the nation to participate in educational sessions alongside the National Black Hereford Open Show and National Junior Show.
Culinary offerings at the fair include a diverse selection of traditional outdoor concessions alongside international fare. Attendees can choose from staple carnival treats such as funnel cakes and classic fried items, as well as an assortment of specialty regional foods. Live musical performances are scheduled throughout the fair to complement the dining and vendor areas.
Competitive events and grandstand entertainment form another substantial portion of the scheduled programming. Visitors can watch action-oriented spectacles ranging from pig racing to monster truck rallies and live professional wrestling bouts. The schedule also incorporates specialty arena presentations, featuring interactive murder mystery events and a costume-driven cosplay competition.
Local participants will have several opportunities to compete for awards throughout the event. Among the headlining contests is the second annual "Fairest of the Fair" beauty pageant, alongside high-energy food competitions featuring hot chicken and ice cream eating challenges. The expo halls will also host competitive judging across multiple traditional county fair categories, including livestock, locally grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and handcrafted art submissions.
